How to Treat a Sinus Infection

Naturopathic medicine is different, in that its focus is on the cause of ailments. After all, once you eliminate the cause, then the effects disappear with permanence. This kind of sensible thinking has caused more and more people every day to turn towards herbal medicine, home remedies, and naturopathic healing. If you are looking to learn how to treat a sinus infection, then natural remedies is the best way to go.

Many of us want to know how to treat a sinus infection. We could use over the counter drugs, but that is not how to treat a sinus infection - that is how to treat the symptoms of such an infection, and there is a very big difference, as you may well know. The biggest problem with drug store medications is that they won't do anything to cure you. Instead, they are designed to offer a quick fix, and hide your symptoms and the effects they have in order to provide you with temporary relief from these symptoms. They are not designed to go after the cause, but to lessen the effect.

Pain with sinus is synonymous. The unwanted pain and distress pain include eye pain, headaches, neck pain. Sometimes even back pain due to fatigue. Sinusitis headaches cause a dull, deep, or severe pain in the front of your head and face. They are caused by an inflammation in the passages behind the cheeks, nose, and eyes. Bending down or leaning over usually makes the pain worse, as do cold and damp weather. These are headaches that have a "butterfly" distribution where the headache is centered across the forehead between the eyes and on the mid face. A sinus headache is often bad in the morning and improves by afternoon. Many times they are confused with migraines or tension headaches. The nerve that supplies the sinusitis and nasal lining becomes irritated or inflamed, thus causing the pain. If an isolated ethmoid sinus or frontal sinus or spenoid sinus becomes obstructed or infected, it can cause pain without causing nasal congestion or drainage.

Sinus Pain Treatment - How to Cure a Sinus Pain

Nasal septal deviations often cause airway obstruction and can cause pain.

At times when there is pain in the ear or temple region then it is said to be Temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction syndrome. Treatment in such cases can be from a dentist who with simple measures or with splints and bring relief to the pain. Pseudoephedrine and Advil/Tylenol help with the symptoms of pain and congestion. The occasional use of Afrin type sprays can relieve flare ups of congestion and pain. Saline nasal sprays, or saline rinses can really ease the pain to a great extent.

Other sinus pain treatment includes steroid nasal sprays, decongestants, sometimes oral steroids, leukotriene receptor antagonist and long duration broad spectrum antibiotics.

Much relief from sinus pain can be achieved by using acupressure. It gives quick relief from the pain. For a person suffering from sinus pain the first treatment is usually with steroid nasal sprays and the occasional use of decongestant sprays and oral decongestants. If a person is suffering from chronic pain then surgery is suggested.

In addition to boric acid there are other home remedies that are sometimes used to treat yeast infections. Many women use yogurt to help clear up yeast infections. Yogurt contains lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacterium that occurs naturally in healthy vaginas. Acidophilus kills yeast by producing hydrogen peroxide in the vagina. To use this method, a tampon is soaked in yogurt and inserted into the vagina. Yogurt can also be applied directly to the vulva to relieve itching and burning. Make sure that you use plain, unflavored yogurt that contains absolutely no sugar.

Boric acid can be particularly useful for people with chronic yeast infections that havent responded to over-the-counter or prescription anti-fungal medications. Some pharmacies can prepare boric acid capsules for you. Ask for size 0 gelatin capsule filled with 600 mg of powdered boric acid in each capsule.

Yeast infection treatment typically takes three to seven days. Chronic yeast infections may require a longer treatment. Using boric acid suppositories for more than a week can cause irritation of the vulva and vagina.

Boric acid capsules used as vaginal suppositories can be an effective remedy for yeast infections in some women. Boric acid acidifies the vagina, which restores the natural balance of bacteria and yeast.

Tea tree oil that is widely available in natural food stores is another popular yeast infection remedy. Simply soak a tampon in tea tree oil and insert it into the vagina. Gentian violet is a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections that pre-dates most modern antifungals and antibiotics. To use this method you paint the vagina and vulva with gentian violet. Just one treatment is often enough to cure yeast infection.

Talk to your holistic practitioner about boric acid to help determine if the treatment is right for you. Boric acid can be a safe, inexpensive and effective treatment for yeast infection.

One capsule is typically inserted at night before going to bed. Some people may need to take it in the morning and the evening. It can be taken with a vitamin E capsule or used with vitamin E oil to reduce the chances of irritation.

Glossary:

Boric Acid: A household product that is often used to cure yeast infections
Gentian Violet: A traditional home remedy that can be used to treat yeast infections.

While you are treating a yeast infection with boric acid or other remedies, you can use a paste made from slippery elm powder and water to relieve the itching and burning. Another option is to keep aloe vera in the refrigerator and soak into a cotton pad. This can be applied to the vulva as needed. Some women use an over the counter topical cream, like Vagisil, to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms associated with yeast infections.

Boric Acid For Yeast Infection Treatment

Many holistic practitioners advise eating yogurt daily to help prevent yeast and other fungal infections. Drink at least two glasses of buttermilk daily, whether youve got the infection or not. This will drastically reduce the chances of infection.

Various ultrasound findings have been reported in Celiac disease, primarily in the European literature. Colli et. al in Italy noted increased fasting volumes of the gallbladder by ultrasound in untreated Celiac patients and Mariciani et. al. in the U.K. found increased gallbladder volumes and elevated gallbladder ejection fractions using MRI. Low CCK levels have been reported in Celiac patients (Deprez et.al. 2002, Rehfeld 2004). This physician has had several Celiac disease patients who have had high gallbladder ejection fractions (typically >90%) associated with classic gallbladder symptoms that resolved after gallbladder surgery. Chronic gallbladder disease was confirmed pathologically.

Gallbladder disease is a common condition typically affecting young and otherwise healthy individuals. Risk factors include obesity, diabetes, female gender, pregnancy, family history, rapid weight loss, liquid protein diets, and race or ethnic background. When typical symptoms of right sided upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and bloating occur within 15-90 minutes of eating, especially a fatty meal, gallstones are usually suspected. Ultrasound of the gallbladder is the first test ordered and will confirm the presence or absence of gallstones. If gallstones are confirmed then surgical removal of the gallbladder is recommended.

An unusual phenomenon has been observed in some Celiac patients. Gallbladder type abdominal pain without gallstones and a "supranormal" gallbladder ejection fraction. Surgery relieves the gallbladder type pain and a diseased gallbladder is found. Radiology studies have been reported in the literature that shed light on this phenomenon though it's significance has been largely missed by the medical community.

Gallbladder disease should be considered in Celiac disease patients despite normal ultrasound and HIDA tests, especially if a "supranormal" ejection fraction is noted and pain reproduced with CCK. Patients with abnormal high gallbladder ejection fractions should be considered as possible undiagnosed Celiacs and should undergo blood tests for Celiac disease and consideration of upper endoscopy with small bowel biopsy.

The medical terminology finds that sinusitis headaches occurs due to congestion of the nose and the infection in ethmoid sinuses which are very close to the eyes. The headache may start in the two sides of the forehead and gradually travel down to the eye sockets. Doctors also found that fluid collection in the sinuses is another cause of headaches. Some patients may experience mild headache while others may experience severe headaches. Sometimes due to headache the patient cannot adjust to bright light areas.

What can one do in case of such sinus infection headaches? Try to rest and be calm. Take some medications prescribed by the doctor for the headache. Don't read or write anything exerting pressure to your eyes. If possible take some hot beverages like tea or coffee. If you feel disturbed by bright light take rest in a semi dark room. Avoid noisy environment in case of sinusitis headaches and don't shout. In case of severe pain don't panic and call for a doctor for immediate relief.

Sinus mostly due to bacterial infection and it causes inflammation of the nasal sinuses along with infection of the upper respiratory part of your nasal passage. There are various causes of sinusitis which may lead to different symptoms but the most common symptom is sinusitis headaches. The headache may occur in different area of your head and you will suffer a lot from pain and agony. Before we see what kind of headaches is common in sinusitis lets throw a light on what are the causes of sinusitis.

One additional downside to Topamax is the price tag. If your health insurance does not cover medications or provides only partial prescription drug coverage, you need to be prepared for the high cost of this drug. There are other Migraine medications on the market that are much less expensive that could provide similar results.

Be sure to consult with your doctor about Topamax and any other Migraine treatment to find the right solution.

Migraine Medications - A Look at One Popular Medication For Migraine Headaches

These are the things that you have to remember about Topamax. Although this drug is safe, it is still important that you talk to your doctor about the side effects you are experiencing while taking Topamax. They will be able to adjust the dosage of the medicine if necessary.

Living with migraines is a life that can be very hard to live. Migraine headaches can attack with no warning and they can strike at anytime and anywhere. If you want to improve the quality of your life, you may want to know about a particular medicine that can help in treating migraine and reducing the frequency of migraine attacks.

Topamax is different from other migraine medicines as this particular drug will be able to help in reducing the frequency of migraines. Unlike other migraine medicines which you need to take every time you feel an attack is coming, Topamax should be taken daily in order to prevent or reduce the frequency of migraine. It is also known to reduce the pain caused by migraine.

Ask yourself whether your migraine is interfering with your plans with family and friends, interfering with work, miss out on important activities, and you should also try and ask yourself if over the counter and prescription drugs don't work in relieving the pain.

Topamax has recently grown in popularity as a medicine prescribed to prevent Migraines. So, here are some things that you need to consider if you want to know if Topamax is right for you.

Although Topamax has a very good safety record, some people may still experience side effects when taking this medication. Some people experiences numbness in the arms and legs or that "pins and needles" sensation. There are also reported cases that people felt tired after taking Topamax as well as having a different taste in food and beverages.

Three guiding principles that can bolster your nasal health are:

Now, one recommendation that all sinus sufferers would do well to heed: a key concept to remember in treating your nose is that you are in charge of taking control of your health. No one else will do that for you. In fact, I learned that even though my nasal problems seem rather severe, as I suffer from empty nose syndrome, I actually came down with fewer sinus infections than others around me because I learned more about my nose and followed treatment strategies that worked well for me. Many of the treatment principles are universal.

2) The Hydro Pulse allows you to irrigate both your nose and throat. It is important to irrigate both, particularly since what is in the nose travels down to the throat. Irrigating the throat can bring circulation to the throat, thereby thinning mucus and reducing postnasal drip.

Principle 1: Keep the nose moist while keeping mucus moving.

Principle 2: Maintain good blood supply to the nose.

Principle 3: Relax.

Three Effective Treatment Principles For Sinus Sufferers

1) The Hydro Pulse pulsates at a rate to stimulate your nasal cilia to their best rhythm, restoring the functioning of the cilia.

Before reading further, please note I am a school psychologist and nasal sufferer with the above conditions as well as empty nose syndrome, but not a healthcare professional. While these treatments have generally been effective for me, everyone responds differently to them so what helped me might not benefit someone else. I strongly recommend you discuss treatment ideas in this article with your doctor before attempting them. The best course of action with any health-related problem is consultation with a medical professional, and I take no responsibility for decisions made by people who read this article.

A key strategy for Principle 1, keep the nose moist while keeping mucus moving, is nasal irrigation. This is a natural remedy I believe every sinus sufferer must understand and should do. In brief, it consists of rinsing out your nose and sinuses with salt and water. I feel so strongly about nasal irrigation that I believe it must be tried first before considering nose or sinus surgery (unless your situation demands it).

Are you among the 1 in 5 Americans who suffer from sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, nasal congestion, postnasal drip, acid reflux or asthma? Did you know that by effectively treating the nose, you might be able to treat or prevent other problems as well? Did you know that many of the strategies for treating the nose and sinuses also apply to other conditions, such as even acid reflux and asthma? Yes, they do! And it is so important to treat the nose effectively because these are all interconnected.

Another key strategy as part of Principle 1 and that I believe everyone should keep in mind before considering nasal or sinus surgery, except in emergency situations, is to get proper treatment for your allergies. Allergies can lead to enlarged turbinate tissue that can block nasal breathing, so effective treatment for allergies can actually reduce the size of the turbinates, an effect that can be very beneficial. (Please note: the turbinates are very complex structures in the nose with the primary turbinates the size of a finger and they play key roles in heating, humidifying, and filtering air, directing and detecting airflow, and providing 50% of resistance in overall airflow to the lungs.) This treatment might consist of allergy medicine and injections. Allergy injections, for example, have been demonstrated in medical literature to improve the immune system and mucociliary clearance functioning. These are generally administered for 3-5 years for optimal benefit.

If you are among the 1 in 5 Americans who suffer from sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, nasal congestion, postnasal drip, acid reflux, asthma, and/or if you have empty nose syndrome, then I encourage you to consider using the treatment strategies discussed in this article, which might just be a starting point for you to take control of your nasal health. Remember, it is you, no one else, who will take control of your health.

Principle 2 is maintain good blood supply to the nose. Exercise is a strategy that most people are familiar with and can help improve nasal functioning. Exercise increases blood flow throughout the body, while increasing serotonin reuptake inhibitors that will physically decrease the likelihood someone will develop depression. When I run outside (or walk or do any physical activity), I notice that I can breathe better through my nose. Empty nose sufferers tend to particularly benefit from good blood supply to their nose, sometimes finding inversion techniques to be helpful. An inversion technique consists of having the head lower than the rest of the body to increase blood supply to the head and remaining nose tissue (the turbinates). You can purchase an inversion table to do this technique.

Nasal irrigation has become popularized in 2007 by Oprah Winfrey, as she had Dr. Mehmet Oz introduce the neti pot to viewers. Dr. Oz suggests water used for irrigation should be warm and it must include salt; without salt in the mixture that mimics the natural concentration of salt in the body, the water would irritate delicate nasal membranes. He also points out how many ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists recognize the value in doing irrigation, which can be more effective than drugs for treating nasal congestion, stuffiness, or allergies, for example, as it involves directly cleaning out the nose and sinuses. Have you noticed the proliferation of irrigation products in your local drugstore compared to even just 10 years ago? The number of products has increased significantly, because there is much value in cleaning out your nose with salt water. I wish nasal irrigation would be tantamount to and as well understood as washing dirty hands!

No, I stopped wearing ties when a psychiatric inpatient decided that the superfluous rag hanging from my neck was the quickest way (and, it turned out, the surest way) to get my attention. As I stiff-armed him with one hand and tried desperately to maintain a fingersbreadth of space for my trachea with the other, it dawned on me that whoever invented ties should have been hung with one. Thank heaven for burly orderlies, or I may have suffered just that fate.

Now, I eventually informed the prof of his breech of scientific prudence, but I did watch the show for a while before doing so. After all, before I noticed the indiscretion myself, the damage had been done. Indeed, when I saw what was going on, my immediate reflex was to look quickly down at my own tie, just to make sure I hadnt done the same thing.

Ha!

So, it is welcome news that ties and white coats are on their way out the doors of hospital wards and clinics everywhere

hold that thought. I just read that doctors in America want to conduct their own studies before making any final fashion decisions.

Bugs in Our Pockets

Well, I unloaded my tie for good not long after that. And it had little to do with the fact that this ornamentalong with the white coat we trainees were required to wearwas a fomite for infection. We already knew this, but, like the noble physicians who contended with Semmelweis (Virchow among them) that puerperal fever had nothing to do with hand washing or instrument sterilization, effete tradition is more important to some physicians than is good practice.

Virchow? Is that you?

It is of some importance to know, however, that the professor had plans to see patients after we finished our work at the lab. God knows where all those germs would have gone.

I remember working with an attending professor on a microbiology project some years ago. Our assignment lay upon a stainless steel table before us: four flats of eggs whose tops had been removed. Within each egg brewed a noisome gruel that had resulted from the inoculation of said eggs two weeks before with a strain of Salmonella 96 little foul-smelling wells, awaiting denouement. The professor, in methodical fashion, was sampling each egg with a tiny metal loop that he heated in a flame between cultures. He dipped the loop into an egg, inserted the loop into a tube of agar, handed me the tube for labeling, heated the loop, and dipped into the next egg. Back and forth, over and over, with scientific precision. I cant recall the object of the study; all I remember is how, with each pass over the table, the professor dragged his tie across the eggs, not only contaminating the entire lot with its neighbors contents, but also creating a rather interesting collage on the bottom one-third of his tie.

To look for the source of the black mold, the best procedure is to "follow your nose." Black mold gives off a musty, earthy smell, like that of rotting wood. Ceiling boards that are yellowed because of moisture are possible black mold-infested areas.

It is thus extremely important to inspect each and every dark and damp corner of the room to eliminate the source. Sometimes, you'd be able to spot black mold out in the open, but this can only mean that these have only spread, and that there are even more profuse growths in hidden corners.

Mild or severe, black mold affects the respiratory tract. People affected by inhalation of this mold exhibit symptoms similar to those of sinusitis. As it mimics this common disease, your doctor may not even know that the illness you are experiencing may possibly be due to environmental factors, not from within.

For people with histories of allergy and asthma, the symptoms can be more severe. The spores of Aspergillus niger spreads as it is airborne and are so small that they can easily pass through the respiratory system and into the lungs.

The black mold has to be completely scrubbed off to prevent regrowth. To see to it that it remains black mold-free for a long time, dry the cleaned area completely. If possible, use a hairdryer if the spot is not reached by sunlight (say, a wall in the basement).

Otherwise, if there is a strong possibility that there is a black mold infestation in the walls, then don't hesitate to tear the wallpaper off to be able to get to the mold growth and clean it thoroughly even with ordinary detergent and water.

This fungus usually creates an air space in the wallpaper, so you don't really have to tear off good wallpaper if it looks smooth and even enough. All it would take is a careful ocular inspection.

-sneezing
-runny nose
-nasal congestion
-headache
-fever
-itchy and red eyes

So are under-the-carpet areas in basements and attics. Other vulnerable spots are areas in the kitchen and the bathroom which are hardly ever cleaned, such as the backside of cabinets or appliances. You can also check behind peeling wallpaper for black mold growth.

Just a few of the symptoms you'll experience when affected by black mold are:

If Quarantine Works for Horses-Why Wont It Work for Avian Flu

The second problem inherent to quarantine is that it is a deliberate restriction of personal liberties. In fact, it is separation by prescription if not legislation. The reason quarantine has been such a great subject for Hollywood is that such restrictions violate basic tenets of our society and seeing the hero overcome those restrictions makes for good cinema. Attempts at quarantine for human disease throughout the ages have failed, even as quarantine has succeeded for narrow non-human diseases in domestic animals.

Answer comes from the very nature of quarantine for animals. The diseases for which animal quarantine works are diseases that are not easily transmitted to humans. Since all animals exposed to the disease, except humans, are maintained within the quarantine area and humans who are not capable of caring the disease out of the quarantine area, the ability for the disease to spread is absolutely stopped.

Further, in quarantine, you take everyone suspected of being exposed and separate them from everyone believed to have never been exposed. This raises two problems. One is the inherent uncertainty of knowing who has and has not been exposed and the second is the fact that in a pandemic ultimately everybody is exposed. Once you reach a certain level, quarantine makes no sense because there are more people in quarantine than not. In fact, statisticians have determined that once there are more than 31 cases worldwide, quarantine will no longer be an option. We are well over that number now.

When the avian flu pandemic strikes, all of humanity will be forced to find a way to decrease transmission while still maintaining the basic functions of society and of humanity.

So why doesn't this work in humans?

The State of Florida, Department of Agriculture, this week lifted the quarantine on horses in South Florida. This was welcome news to the competitive horse breeding industry which has spawned many of the recent champions of horse racing. Equine herpes virus, a disease fatal in horses, was the cause for the quarantine and officials lifted the quarantine because this it had stopped the progression of the disease through the horse-racing community.

The South Florida Horse Racing Industry was fortunate this year. They were able to quarantine animals, separate those animals that would die of the disease from those who never developed illness and ultimately wait for the disease to burn itself out. Their industry survived.

When the pandemic strikes it will be human nurses and human doctors who will be caring for human patients. That means the doctors and the nurses are just as likely to contract the disease as the people for whom they are caring. Even with the best personal protective devices (PPD), the ability to contain the disease will be non-existent.

Medical Malpractice - The Thing to Avoid

You may have seen it on television on or two times because it is usually very controversial. And in addition to that it is every doctor's nightmare. Medical malpractice is a very serious charge and is one that is sure to destroy a doctor's credibility if proven at fault. Put simply, medical malpractice is defined as an act or omission of a health care provider which leads to the patient's injury and deviates from accepted medical standards. Put simply, it is the height of negligence for any medical practitioner. Doctors charged with medical malpractice are sure to have their reputations damaged or much worse.

There is a duty owed- there is a legal duty whenever a hospital or health care provider gives care to the patient.

The breach caused injury to the patient

Damages- these may be pecuniary or emotional but damages are definitely needed for a medical practitioner to be liable. These can be compensatory (economic and non-economic) or punitive (in the case of reckless conduct) in nature. Non-economic damages can be the injury itself, the loss of limbs, senses, a loved one or severe emotional distress.

This duty was breached- the hospital or provider did not conform to the accepted care standards. Witnesses, reliable testimony or self explanatory evidence is needed for the case to hold any water.

Plaintiffs usually must assure the following before medical malpractice can be proven or charged:

Medical malpractices are very serious cases. In some cases, the guise of medical malpractice has been used to mask the presence of murder. Physicians and medical practitioners can go to jail for a long time if proven guilty and be made to pay millions of dollars in damages depending on how serious the case is.

The longer you wait to get treatment the worse it'll get; so take action now. If you don't have insurance, check with your local mental health agencies to see what's available that is free. All other demands like that of children, a job, school, or any other responsibilities may make inpatient treatment seem like an intrusion but it is not.

If you think you're addicted and want to get off pain killers or other drugs, it's best to get detoxified as fast as you can and then go through some type of rehabilitation; it's important to have others to lean on and learn from and offer support to you also. When you're addicted physically to a drug, like pain killers or alcohol, etc., it's because you've suppressed or shut down your body's production of endorphins, which are natural opiate pain killers; when this happens you start craving the drug that you replaced the endorphins with whether it is alcohol, any of various drugs or pain killers. More than 415,000 people received treatment for pain killer abuse or addiction in this past year.

There are quite a number of effective treatment options to treat pain killer addiction to prescription opioids and to help manage the sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms that can accompany the sudden stopping of pain killers or drugs. Pain killer addiction includes: opiate dependency, opiate addiction, narcotic dependency, narcotic addiction, and pain killer dependency. Less common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: confusion, hallucinations, delirium, hives, itching, hypothermia, bradycardia (slowed heart rate), tachycardia (rapid heart rate), raised intracranial pressure, ureteric or biliary spasm, muscle rigidity and flushing.

Today's pain killer treatment options are drawn from long-time experience and clinical research from studying and treating all types of drugs and even heroin addiction. The body's natural pain killers, endorphins, have been replaced by these pain killing drugs; get them flowing again with lots of laughter and other natural endorphin generators. The potential for pain killer addiction in patients with chronic pain conditions is often overlooked by physicians.

It's important to get help and not try to get off pain killers on your own. Many insurance plans will cover inpatient detox; check yours if you have insurance. Some insurance companies will pay for one or two weeks; some may also pay for rehabilitation too.

There are many side effects and serious adverse reactions that can occur with the use of opioids as pain killers. Many other drugs can interact with the opioids and cause a variety of unpleasant or dangerous symptoms; this can be fatal. Addiction to pain killers is an escalating problem, especially the abuse of opioid pain killers.

The common side effects and adverse reactions of pain killers are: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis (contraction of the pupil), orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drops upon sudden standing) -- often happens when getting up too fast when getting out of bed in the morning, urinary retention, constipation and fecal impaction. Opioids, used as the doctor has prescribed, are supposedly not dangerous according to some well-established medical groups; but if that's the case, why then are so many people addicted to them? If you're addicted to pain killers or other drugs or think you may be, you can start working to increase the body's endorphin production naturally; some of the ways are laughing, touching, massage, acupuncture, acupressure, walking, and anything that makes you feel good that is natural.

Once a patient, addicted to pain killing drugs, has completed detoxification, the treatment provider must then work with the patient to determine which course of treatment is best for the patient. Often people who are addicted to pain killers are plagued with a variety of symptoms; many times they don't associate these symptoms with the pain killing drug. 2.2 million people aged 12 and up abused painkillers for the first time within the past year; this is more than the number of people who started using marijuana and has overtaken use of cocaine.

If you've felt sick for a long time it is likely that a deeper cause beyond Candida is occurring in your body and making you feel sick all the time. I'd suggest you read below if you want to find out more on this.

Probiotics are of the most importance because they give your body the power it needs to eliminate yeast and get it back down to size. They are your beneficial bacteria and unless you eat unsweetened yogurt on a daily basis you will need to use some of these.

Chronic Sinusitis, Allergies, Asthma, Digestive problems, Brain-Fog, Mood Swings, Insomnia, Chronic Fatigue, Acne, Depression, Eczema and much more.

Some of the major symptoms connected to Candida are:

If you answered yes! To any of the above questions then you very likely have developed Candida.

If you answered that you have indeed taken a anti-biotic in the past 2 years for more than 15 days and wonder why it's of any relevance I'll give you an example. Imagine that your body is like a garden that has a few weeds in it, instead of picking them out one by one you decide to just tear out the entire garden. Thus killing off all other plants and life that was in the garden as well. Now take this example, picture your body, throw in some anti-biotics and voila! You've got Candida in your Garden!

Do you wake up everyday and feel sick almost like you're hung-over? Do you have allergies that never quit and almost seem worse than ever? Do you feel like a cold is just lingering around and isn't going away like it should? Have you taken an anti-biotic in the past 2 years for more than 15 days?

The Cure is here! Never before has a natural Candida and Yeast Infection system been as effective at targeting and eliminating the root causes of both Candida and Chronic yeast infections until now.

Feel Sick? It Could Be Candida

Your naturally occurring bacteria is completely wiped out when you take an anti-biotic, so the bad bacteria (Weeds) are killed off as well. However we all know how difficult weeds are to kill and how they simply come right back. However the good bacteria (Roses) are not. This is simply because after eliminating them the weeds took over.

Candida is a yeast that is naturally occurring in everyone. The thing is certain factors can occur in your life that can suppress your immune system and allow the yeast to overgrow to the point of it resembling an infections.

So just like in the example of weeds in your garden, Candida is able to come back and multiply at an alarming rate. Once the damage has been done it's almost impossible for your body to correct it without having some beneficial factors put into place such as a diet that doesn't feed the yeast. Anti-Fungals to eliminate the Candida development that has already begun and lastly Probiotics.

Jaw pain sinus disease can be prevented by proper oral hygiene and refraining from allergens like smoke and pollen.

Sinusitis is caused by an inflamed membrane which lines the sinus cavities. This inflammation can be caused by virus, bacteria or fungus or by allergens like smoke, dust and pollen. Inflammation in the lining of the maxillary sinus cavity can cause jaw pain sinus disease. Not being able to smile or laugh or even speak properly is so terrible.

Jaw pain sinus disease is easy to diagnosis as it is normally accompanied with other symptoms of sinusitis like a runny nose, headache mild fever and facial pain. The cheekbones become very tender and are extremely painful if touched.

Jaw pain sinus disease can also occur due to lack of proper oral hygiene. Our jaws and teeth are connected to the maxillary sinus cavity via the alveolar process which is 'U' shaped. If a person doesn't take good care of his/ her teeth and gums there is bacterial growth in the teeth and gums. These bacteria may spread to the maxillary sinus cavity causing sinusitis. It is recommended that a person should brush twice a day, floss regularly and visit a dentist periodically.

Causes Of Jaw Pain Sinus Disease

Jaw pain sinus can be treated just like any other sinus. It can be treated with over the counter medication or antibiotics. Only some extreme cases of sinus require surgery. In this case the infected mucous from the maxillary cavity is removed surgically.

Jaw pain sinus is often confused with normal dental pain though both of them are very different. Jaw pain sinus can occur only in the upper part of the jaws because only those are associated with the maxillary sinus cavity. Dental pain can occur in any part of the jaws. Jaw pain caused by sinus is very spontaneous unlike dental pain which is continuous. Swollen gums are also associated with jaw pain sinus disease

There has been much ado lately about Canadian Pharmacy Online medications. Everyone is concerned about the rising costs of prescription medication. As the American public and particularly the "Baby Boomers" age, more medication is often required to maintain quality of life and to control chronic illness. Many do not have proper prescription drug insurance coverage.

The recent negative media pointed at Canadian Pharmacy mail order prescription services has caused some people to be a little leery of them. Customs has on occasion, confiscated medications crossing the border because required documentation was missing or incorrect. Another issue with mail order services is that some do not supply the identical medications. And of course there is always some rotten apple working the angles.

All is Not Lost Though

Using a Canadian Pharmacy mail order service can enhance your coverage on Medicare Part D and help you avoid reaching that dreaded "donut hole".

* Does the mail order prescription service provide significant savings over U.S. drug costs, like 30% or more?

* Does a licensed doctor (in the country providing the prescription) co-sign that prescription once verified by your doctor?

Most Americans today who use mail order medication services have found many Canadian Pharmacy services that meet all the criteria above. These are reliable, safe and cost-effective services. These Canadian Pharmacy services provide the identical medications or generic equivalent, ensuring you receive precisely what is prescribed by your doctor.

***Save Money By Choosing The Right Ins Plan*** Don't make the mistake of choosing the wrong Prescription Plan. The Government Medicare plan is working well for many seniors. Make sure you are one of them!

* Does the mail order service require your doctor provide proof, and do they confirm the prescription with your doctor?

* Will the mail order company provide prompt service, making certain that all the documentation to clear U.S. Customs is precise?

If you are considering a Canadian Pharmacy for some or all of your prescriptions and they meet ALL of the above criteria, then you can save money and get medication you can trust.

* Do the medications originate in a country known to provide identical medications as those available in the United States, such as Canadian Pharmacy Online services provide?

By using a Canadian Pharmacy Online prescription service, you can save as much as 30% or more. If you're considering Medicare Part D, Canadian Pharmacy savings can be especially important because of the "donut hole" which makes amounts from $2150 to $5100 your responsibility.

Are Canadian Pharmacy Online Services Safe?

There are safe, cost-effective, legal mail order prescription services available. Here is what to look for when selecting a Canadian Pharmacy service.

One of the most common processed foods to eliminate is white sugar. Excess dietary sugar is toxic to the body and promotes fungal infections in the gut, ear, nose and throat. Many chronic earaches and sinus problems are actually fungal infections. Instead use an All-Natural Sugar substitute that is safe for kids called Xylitol. In fact, Xylitol actually prevents infections.

The goal to long-term healing is to get the immune system strong again.
  • First, by improving digestion using natural digestive enzymes thus improving absorption of nutrients.
  • Second, is to identify and remove allergens. Research shows that the vast majority of kids with chronic earaches & sinus infections are allergic to wheat, diary, and beef. So eliminating or reducing these foods will bring help bring healing. Alternative food choices are yogurt, soymilk, lactaid milk, rice, oats, and etc.
  • Third, limiting or eliminating proteins from cow products and replacing them with easily digestible proteins such as yogurt, beans, and whey protein powder drinks. Protein powder drinks are chock full of essential and nonessential amino acids that do not need to be digested only absorbed, are very helpful because protein drink mixes are quick and easy to fix. Why should you eliminate cow proteins?

  1. This is because allergic kids usually have problems digesting proteins and lack protease, which is an enzyme needed for protein digestion.
  2. In addition, allergic kids have trouble removing the metabolic waste from protein digestion due to enzyme deficiency.
  3. Last and most important is the fact that milk products produce excess flem and mucous in throat and sinuses.

During my years of research for Earache prevention, I found that repeated allergies, sinus, and ear infections are the result of a "weakened immune system" mainly due to "antibiotic overuse." Antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria in the colon resulting in poor digestion and impaired absorption of nutrients. So even when I gave my son a healthy diet and vitamin supplements, he was still having chronic earaches and sinusitis, because he was not absorbing needed nutrients to keep his immune system healthy and strong.

2005 Scott Woutersz Reprints allowed as long as copy is complete with the last paragraph and copyright information.

IMPROVED DIGESTION AND ABSORPTION = BETTER NUTRITION = HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM

Cutting back on processed foods that have toxic food additives and preservatives can make a huge difference in the health of you and your child. Replace processed foods with whole fruits, grains, and vegetables. You will be surprised how much better your child will feel. In addition, their attention span will improve and hyperactivity will be diminished.

A simple remedy is to supplement with Lactobacillus Acidophilus (friendly flora), which is a good bacteria that will repair the mucosa by replenishing the natural balance of friendly flora in the colon that the antibiotics has destroyed. For supplement info see link below.

In addition to impaired absorption, antibiotics damage the mucosa (the inner lining of the small intestines) so toxins that should normally exit the body, get absorbed into the blood stream instead. Toxins in the blood stream can cause various allergic reactions such as hives, body aches, sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. Runny noses and fluid buildup provide the breeding ground for bacterial ear infections.

Other helpful strategies include:

  • Drink more water and eat more fresh unprocessed foods.
  • Get thirty minutes of exercise and sunshine each day.

  1. Exercise creates enzymes in the mitochondria of cells to burn fat, burning fat = getting rid of toxins from the body. For more information see link below and email me for a free e-book.
  2. Sunshine is needed for the body to make Vitamin D3. Most kids and elderly folks cannot convert Vitamin D2 supplements into D3 the active form in the body, so their immune system is lacking vitamin D3. D3 is necessary to help the immune system recognize & fight invaders.

There are thousands of man-made chemicals today that did not exist a hundred years ago. Today our childrens immune systems are overloaded with toxins and have to work harder to remove them. Working overtime causes the immune system to run out of essential elements (necessary oils and enzymes), which are the fuel it needs to carry on. When your tank is out of gas you fill it up, right? And likewise, our immune system is no different. To fuel up we need "basic building blocks" called "amino acids" (protein) and "essential oils" (omega 3) in order to strengthen the immune system heal chronic diseases. Toxic overload without regular refueling will cause the immune system and the liver to burnout out. The end result is low "immune system function."

The "Key" to "Sinus Infection Cure" and "Earache Prevention" is to get the immune system healthy again by using natural antibiotics, eliminating toxins, and by improving digestion thus increasing absorption of nutrients. Once absorption is improved healthy food and supplementation is necessary to replenish the immune system. Achieving all this strengthens the immune system so the body can heal itself.

Short-term healing can be achieved by:

  • Adding all-natural antibiotics in addition to your doctors care. Natural antibiotics (colloidal silver) can be administered both topically (ear drops & sinus sprays) and orally. My experience when using natural antibiotic eardrops is that ear pain is gone usually within an hour.
  • Making a fresh juice cocktail of carrots, apples, beets, and spinach gives superior nutrition and tons of antioxidants very quickly.
  • Giving lactobacillus acidophilus to restore floral balance in the colon.

Other factors that wear down the immune system are:

  • Stress
  • Poor diet
  • Lack of sleep
  • Food allergies
  • Food additives
  • Food preservatives
  • Environmental toxins
  • Toxins from protein digestion

Head lice are small insects. When dealing with head lice infestation, one of the main symptoms is a itchy scalp. The feeling of having bugs crawling around your hair or the constant head scratching are also frequent signs.

If you or your child acquire head lice, the first thing you will want to know is how to get rid of head lice. Getting rid of the lice is not easy, but the chore must be undertaken as quickly as possible before the pests get out of hand. You will need to locate the lice eggs, normally found close to the scalp. The eggs have the appearance of dandruff, but do not easily brush away.

It is important to wash every bed sheet and clothing along with elastics and hair care products. No one would like their head to be affected with lice. Anything that cannot be washed should be kept in a plastic bag separately for a week. Though lice is difficult to be removed, they do not survive for a long time if they do not feed on a host.

A lice comb is used to separate your child's hair into small stands that can easily be searched for lice. You then pick the lice out systematically. Make sure that as you search through the hair you can see the scalp and that you have picked all the lice out. If you leave just one, the infestation will be back in a few days.

Head Lice - How To Defeat The Infestation

You will also need to buy a special shampoo, available at most drug stores, that will kill any lice eggs. This shampoo is easy to use and will help to cure your lice problem. However, the shampoo alone does not work in completely ridding you of lice. You still will have to carefully comb out the lice, as well as shampooing your hair.

Heartworm is a parasite that affects dogs, cats and similar wild animal such as foxes and coyotes. It is carried by mosquito and has now become present in all the states of America. It can easily be prevented by either oral or topical medication or by injection. Anyone who has seen the infested hearts preserved by veterinary clinics will agree that prevention has got to be a good idea. There has, however, been a lot of publicity regarding an adverse heartworm med reaction which has allegedly been responsible for the death of hundreds of dogs.

If an animal is to become infected by heartworm, they face a long course of medication to kill the worms. During this time they are likely to be in considerable discomfort and will have to be kept very calm and inactive to prevent the dead worms from travelling through the body to the lungs, where they could prove fatal. The animal will have to be thoroughly investigated to establish whether there has been any damage to the heart. All this can be avoided if a preventative measure is taken. Although there is a risk of heartworm med reaction from the preventative drugs it is still the best course of action.

There are at least three reasons for this preventative medicine being the possible cause of these deaths:

It would seem that some deaths are allegedly due to the worm already being present when the dogs were injected with the drug. If the animal is already infected and this is not discovered by the veterinary surgeon, then it would seem that the drug can prove lethal. It is unclear as to whether, in such cases, the heartworm med reaction is due to a lack of labelling of the drug, a lack of education regarding the use of the drug or negligence on the part of the veterinary surgeon.

Another problem may be the preparing of the medication. It comes in a highly concentrated form and must be prepared and administered properly for it to be safe and effective. The consequences of untrained or inexperienced medical staff preparing the medication could be fatal.

The debate will continue and much more research and study will be undertaken until a definitive answer is known. Until such time, you are advised to talk to your veterinary surgeon about your specific requirements. It is always advisable to do your best to prevent heartworm as the problems that it can cause for your pet can be much more distressing than the chance of a heartworm med reaction.

Statistics show that the oral preparations give good results in preventing the worm and only carry a low risk of any heartworm med reaction. The average number of deaths for the three main oral preparations is just between 6 and 9 for a year. The topical medicine seems to carry a higher risk with an average of 36 linked deaths during a year but this is still low compared to the average number of deaths reported after use of the injection of Moxidectin. This has been responsible for an average of 138 deaths during a year and has been causing some considerable concern.

All day and night, it is normal for you to breathe through one side of your nose and then the other. It is abnormal for the turbinates on both sides to swell at the same time and cause a stuffy nose. If your nose is stuffy in the spring and fall, you probably have an allergy and need allergy tests. If you have thick yellow or green mucous, you probably have an infection and need a culture and antibiotics. If you are exposed to irritants such as hair spray or smoke, that is probably the cause, and if your stuffiness is worse in the winter, the cause is probably breathing dry, cold air. If no cause is found, your doctor usually diagnoses vasomotor rhinitis which means that he doesn't have the foggiest idea what's causing your stuffiness and the only relatively safe and effective treatment offered today is daily use of a cortisone nasal spray such as Vancenase, Beconase or Rhinocort.

Your nose is supposed to clean, heat and moisturize the air that you breathe. The inside of your nose is covered with a sticky mucous that traps dirt, pollen, mold and other pollutants and prevents them from reaching your lungs. Inside of each nostril are large ridges called turbinates that have large blood vessels in them. When the inner lining of one side of your nose fills up with pollutants, the blood vessels inside the turbinates enlarge and swell the turbinates so they stop air from entering that side of your nose and force you to breathe through the other side of your nose. Then small hairs called cilia in the lining of your nose sweep the mucous and filth toward your mouth where you swallow them and they pass from your body.

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic found fungi in 96 percent of people with chronic sinusitis. The most common fungi are alternaria, penicillium, cladosporium, aspergillus, candida and fusarium. A sinus cat scan will tell whether a person has a sinus infection. If the cat scan shows fluid levels indicating a sinus infection, the doctor should order a fungus culture of the nose. If the culture is positive for fungi, the doctor should consider treatment with antifungal medication, even though there are no good studies to show the fungal medicines cure sinusitis, because the present treatment of cortisones works only in the short run, and shortens life by causing osteoporosis, high blood pressure and obesity. If the fungus infection is positive, the person should be treated with the appropriate anti-fungal medication such as Sporanox, Lamisil or Diflucan.

Myasthenia Gravis

Luckily, if the symptoms are minor, and the disease is not able to be diagnosed, it really isn't to bad. Muscle fatigue is something that people have to live with if they are simply regular gym-goers. If the symptoms are fierce, and the disease is diagnosed, then treatment can begin immediately.

This particular disease is somewhat difficult to diagnose. The symptoms of Myasthenia Gravis are alike many other nuerological disorders, and even normal occurences. If all symptoms of Myasthenia are present then it is clear, but if not, even testing can be very inaccurate. Testing for this disorder is restricted to the eye muscles, and is only 50% accurate, at best.

Nasal decongestants are helpful medicine for the common cold and for allergic rhinitis with congestion. Patients with heart disease, hypertension, thyroid disease, diabetes, or, in men, difficulty in urination caused by an enlarged prostate, should not use nasal decongestants. All nasal decongestants are contraindicated in pregnancy without a physician's recommendation.

Nasal congestion is the obstruction of the nasal passages frequently due to membranes lining the nose becoming distended from swollen blood vessels. It has numerous causes and can vary from a mild irritation to a life-threatening situation. Hearing and speech development can both be affected by nasal congestion. A degree of discomfort, including mild facial and head pain, is often experienced with a blocked nose.

Decongestants are defined as any medicine used to ease inflammation of the nasal mucosa associated with such conditions as the common cold and hay fever. They shrink the mucus membranes lining the nasal cavity by constricting the muscles of blood vessel walls when administered in sprays and drops or in devices for inhalation, thus reducing blood flow to the swollen areas.

Even worse, when you stop taking the medication the problem comes back, often with a vengeance. Symptoms often get worse when nasal decongestants are used for a long time and then discontinued, because the symptoms become dependent on the medication. For this reason, make sure use nasal decongestants exactly as directed.

Several of the over-the-counter nasal decongestants and antihistamines you can use to ease congestion and dry up excess mucus are very good at what they claim...sometimes they are too good! They cause a very dry mouth, which worsens bad breath.

  • Allergic reaction to pollen or grass
  • Common cold or flu
  • Hay fever
  • Sinusitis or sinus infection
  • A lot of women experience nasal congestion during pregnancy because of the increased amount of blood flowing through the body

Avoidance measures are the foundation of allergy treatment, but they are not always enough to deal with all of the symptoms. Antihistamines with or without decongestants can help when the symptoms of nasal allergies are mild or intermittent. The combination of an antihistamine and a topical nasal steroid spray will more often than not give good reprieve with negligible side effects.

Common causes of nasal congestion are:

Once the swollen membranes in the nose are shrunk, you will find it easier to breathe. Decongestants can be taken orally or by nasal drops or spray. Nasal decongestants should not be used for more than five days in a row without your doctor's consent, and then only when accompanied by a nasal steroid.

What Is Holistic Medicine?

In TCM, the knowledge of how to use ancient medicine is what is old - not the age of the medicines themselves! TCM practitioners usually are schooled in acupuncture and the ancient medicine of herbs. Although it is true that animal parts are used in TCM, including parts of endangered animals, this practice is being stamped out. TCM now concentrates on acupuncture, herbs and exercise systems like tai chi. TCM is used to treat the whole person, not just a one body part.

In old China, doctors were only paid when you were feeling well, and weren't paid when you were sick. That was because doctors wee seen as those who could prevent illness rather than cure illness.

Ancient Medicine Helps Modern Patients

One of the Western doctors who champions a synthesis of ancient medicine with modern medicine is bestselling author Dr. Andrew Weil. He says in many of his writings that the human body has self healing potential untapped in the West. Although he urges people to go to an allopathic (conventional) doctor right away if they develop any sudden or drastic symptom, he also recommends holistic ancient medicine such as TCM to help get you healthy and keep you healthy.

For our ancestors, Nature was the supermarket, pharmacy and school. By observing Nature and making experiments with items found in Nature, our ancestors were able to find medicinal herbs to help cure their ailments. Unfortunately, most of these ancient medicine herbal systems have been lost to time or are being associated with black magic. Fortunately, a couple of the systems have survived and adapted to modern times. One of these systems is called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

In holistic healing, a patient is seen as not a set of symptoms that need curing, but as an entire person. Yes, the symptoms still need relief, but maybe they could be prevented from recurring through lifestyle changes. A holistic doctor, such as a TCM practitioner, spends a lot more time getting to know their patients than an allopathic doctor. What you eat, how you exercise and how you handle stress are all taken into account to help you get better.

Holistic medicine is a drastically different method of healing than the allopathic way of healing that most Westerners are familiar with. With allopathic healing, you only go to the doctor when something is wrong and depend entirely on the doctor's bag of tricks to get you better.
